    A sore throat - Tie a stocking half full of salt round the neck.
    A sprain - Rub gooseseam on it.
    Heartburn - A drink of luke-warm water and baking soda.
    Toothacke - A raw potato put to the cheek.

    A sting of a wasp - Rub blue on it.

    Hiccough - If some-one gives you a fright it takes it away.
    Whooping Cough - Two people married with the same name can cure the whooping cough. Get a day's ration of food from them and eat it in your own home. Care must be taken not to eat any thing out of your own house.
    Sore eyes - Bathe with boiled tea leaves
    A Headacke - A cloth dipped in vinegar and tied round the head.
    For a wart - Rub a raw potato on every day.
