  1. There are several poor people in towns and cities throughout Ireland who are forced to go through the country seeking alms.
    There are many of these poor people in the town of Ennis who are unable to provide for themselves. Several of these poor people visit this district looking for alms.
    Most of these people sell small articles such as Sacred Heart badges, tie-pins, shoe-laces and small pictures of various kinds. The woman of the house usually buys some of these small things and she also gives alms to these poor people.
    Besides the poor people there are others who go about the country living in “caravans”. Are able to mend things made from tin and they carry a budget in which are kept the necessary articles for doing so. They usually carry two bags. They put all the potatoes that they get into one of the bags and flour into the other.
    Gypsies come to this district once or twice a year. There is great excitement amongst
