One summer morning while dressing after a dive in the pool Paddy happened to look up towards the "Saint's Bed" wand what he saw there made the blood freeze in his veins.
On the floor ledge of the "bed" stretched on his stomach was an old man growing a massive grey beard and looking straight down at Paddy.
"What did you do Paddy?" said I when he was telling me the story.
"I took to the scapers as quick I could and I tell you I did not look back either," answered Paddy
"And whom do you think he was, Paddy"? I asked again
"Who, but St Scribhaun says Paddy with a glitter in his eye.
