    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    Customs pertaining to wakes are different in different localities.
    When a person dies in this place this is what happens -
    Two or three elderly women in the neighbourhood are asked to come to the house to "lay him out."
    When the "corpse" is washed it is laid on a board, about nine inches wide, on the bed.
    If the deceased was enrolled in the brown scapulars he wears a habit of that order.
    That night boys and girls come to the "corpse house" and after a short prayer at the bedside, they sit in the kitchen and talk in a low subdued tone.
    All are supplied with refreshments. Drink is usually given around, and everyone gets a cup of tea. It is also a custom to give some snuff to everyone, and some time ago clay pipes and tobacco
