- There are cows, calves, pigs, hens and one horse on a farm I know.
The cows are tied by the necks when they are in their stalls. One of them is called "Clinkers." In the summer they are allowed to eat the grass in the fields but in the winter they get hay as well. When they are being driven in or out the driver shouts "how, how"
Calves are given milk when very young and a muzzle is put on their mouth to prevent them from eating their bedding. When they get bigger they are given turnips boiled with meal.
