ruin situated not far from my dwelling place, from which Templenoe, or [?], derived its name. There are a four historical notes connected with Woodlocks Castle, one of which is about a fairy cobbler. The people that were living in the big house near the castle threw out old shoes, and when they got up in the morning, they were all mended. They used always leave their shoes in the castle, and they would be mended in the morning. They wished to know who was mending the shoes, and one of the, stoped up one night. He went out and hid in the castle. About twelve o'clock in the night a fairy came. He began to work, and after some time he said there was somebody in the castle, and he ran away. After that their shoes were never mended. About three miles away stands the ruin of Golden Castle. It is said when King John was king of England he visited this Castle.
