The damage caused was very great, for apart form the buildings, the creamery was equipped with the most up-to-date machinery. The refrigerator supposed to be the best in Munster, was valued at £500; the store was filled with valuable merchandise, and expensive oils and acids were stored in other offices. The combined damage was roughly estimated at £30,000.
