There were boats also made of rods and covered over with hides and painted with tar and then sit in and drive away. Calves baskets and cradles were also made of rods in Mungret. The calves baskets were put on the calves mouths to keep them from sucking the cows.

   There were basket makers in Mungret parish named Clancys. They went to live to Limerick.
