   The Limerick Hurlers.

   You have heard before the story
   of the glories and the name
   of the Limerick dauntless hurlers who brought the county fame.
   No matter where they play, boys, at home or far away.
   The Limerick men give out their strength,
   They never tire nor stray.
   It was the year of '34, they battled step by step.
   To win all Ireland's honours
   under Munster championship.
   They beat Clare, and famed Tipperary, both Waterford and Cork.
   And now they've beat the Dublin team, and travelled to New York.

   The team for you I'll mention,
   with pleasure I will write.

   There are Dave and Paddy Cloghessy, and a good lad named Young Close
   And the fearless Paddy Scanlon, The man between the posts.
   We have the brothers Mackey, to keep up Tyler's name.
   And that stalwart Garrett Howard, the hurler of great fame.
