of Templeglantine a powerful strong man of the clan of the O'Reillys. In this parish there are two townlands named Meenoline and Gurteen, situated in the opposite directions and with a distance of about three miles between them. O'Reilly was living in the townland of Meenoline. One day during his daily journey to the "long-cabin" as it is now called, he came in contact with a gigantic rock, placed on the side of the hill. He took the rock from where it layed and cast it with all his strength. It is said that it landed on the opposite hill in Gurteen, whether it be false or true, scarcely anybody knows.
