- The clouds are red and angry looking before a storm and they look dark before rain. The wind comes from the south before we get rain. The south west wind brings most rain to the district.
The seagulls appear on land and the curlews cry as a warning for rain. When the swallows fly low that's a sign of rain and when they fly high that's a sign of fine weather. When you see a blue flame in the fire rain is expected. When the hills appear near that's a sign of rain. The smoke goes freely up the chimney when fine weather is expected.- Bailitheoir
