- In olden times there was a tanyard in Castlelyons village, where Lomasneys live now and one in Bridesbridge kept by George Gubbins, near Keefe's shop. No trace of them exists now.Candlemaking.
Candles were made in Bridesbridge near Hegarty's. Candlemoulds were in the possession of most farmers wives.Basketmaking.
Mo Carter Ballyoran makes baskets etc to-day. His father followed that trade too.
There was a Twig-yard in Mr Patterson's field up behind the Abbey.Forge Work
Mr Moynihan, Coole, makes gates, flower stands, railings fire-cranes and in former times ploughs.
