All his lands around here were forfeited to one Foott , a name that is esceerated (?) in every home in Wexford since the dark days of 1798. Tradition tells that James II was entertained in Carrigacunna Castle by Sir Richard Nagle.
Opposite Carrigacunna Castle is Monanimy Castle and Graveyard. The Graveyard is on the site of the old religious foundation and ancient preceptory Knights Hospitallers who succeeded the Knights Templars on their dissolution.
A few yards further on is the village of Killavullen. Tradition tells that a battle was fought at Killavullen bridge.
