  1. O'Keeffe the carman used to take butter to Cork. One day he was going to Cork with a carload of butter and the horse fell with the load with the shaft on the horse's neck. O'Keeffe knew it would kill the horse so he caught the shaft and broke it in two.
    This O'Keeffe was Daniel O'Keeffe whose son Francis now resides at Nohival, Knocknagree.
    There was a man in Cork who would give a pound to anyone who would throw a half cwt. weight of iron over a wall higher than himself, and O'Keeffe the carman did it.
