Another vessel, the "Faulkener", was wrecked some years ago in Canon Forde's time. About 25 sailors were brought into Courtmacsherry - not one of them could speak a word of English - Forde, Mr. Ruddock, and Captain Townshend looked after them and gave them food and provided clothes for them.
