Clothes
There is no tailor in this parish, or no cloth woven or sold there. The spinning wheel has not been used for 30 years, and it is doubtful if there is one in the parish. The only occasion when the people wear special clothes is when mourning. Black is then worn by the women for at least three months. Stockings are knitted for the men, the thread is purchased in the Creamery or Clonakilty.
