- There was a road going through the Ballydehob Railway Station during the time of the famine down to. building by the sea. It was used as a public road too. Houses are built now where it was. This road was made in 1150 according to old people. There is a place near Ballydehob which was a swampy place during the famine. A path led through this swamp, and it was made of stones. This place was called Black-pool. There is no sign of it there now, and a house is built in that place which is owned by a Duggan man.
