- There are some tales told about the Mass in the district. St. Kieran got the churches erected in Clonmacnoise and it is called seven churches. The Danes came and plundered it and they took the bell out of it and they threw it into the Shannon and that bell rings every seven years.
There was one time a priest's girl and she used to go to Mass every morning to see how many Masses she would have attended. When she was very old she looked in the box and there was only one stone in it. It seems that she heard only one Mass rightly. Some people would be in time for Mass and more would not.
