1. The Care of Our Farm Animals

   The names of the animals in our farm are cattle, horses, sheep, pigs and asses. The domestic ones are cats and dogs. There are no names on our cows. When driving the cows we say go on out of that, and when calling them we say "Twig, Twig". The are used to this, and when they hear it they come to us.
   When we are calling the calves we say "suck, suck" so when they hear it they come to us. The cow's house is called the byre. There is a manger for their hay, and they are tied by the neck to the manger. The tyings are made from iron, and it is called the Bow tying. After the cows have been milked some bless them with milk. The names of our horses are Doll, and Bob. When driving the horses we say "go on out of that", and when calling them we say "Pho, Pho" when they hear that they come.
