- In the parish of Inniscarra, there is a graveyard called Matehy. Long ago this graveyard was situated in Loughane about two miles from where it is now. In the penal days there lived a priest in Inniscarra, and he used to say Mass near the banks of the Shournagh river, which divide Loughane from Matehy.This priest was shot one morning saying Mass by an English soldier. The priest was buried in the grave yard to which Sometime afterwards the soldier that shot him was shot himself and he was buried in the same grave yard.
