  1. A farmer by the name of Tom Connor lived on the borders of Kerry. A cat came to him one day. They had no cat at the time and they kept the cat The cat stayed with them in side at home for a long time. One day Tom said that he would go to town for shoes for his children. He brought the shoes home the cat got very cross she ran out in the yard and started to tare at the sow that was in the yard.
    What the devil is wrong with that cat to night look here now that cat is a witch.
    Tom went out and the cat started talking and scolding him as he did not bring her shoes from town.
