"Ha" says the king "that's all I want to hear."
He ordered the old man to be taken to the vineyard and to be burned to death in a big fire in the vineard and any man who couldn't tell a tale next morning would be put in the fire along with the old man. Morning came and this young man set out for the king's palace sad and broken-hearted and on the way he met a fat butcher. "Hello, me man what's wrong that I met all the men of Eireann going into the king's palace this morning."
So, the young man told his sad story and worse than all, says he, anyman that can't tell a tale will be put into the fire along with my father, and I never could tell a tale in my life.
Well, I'll go with you and tell a tale for you if that does, says the butcher.
