  2. An Incident in the Big Snow.
    In the year 1838 the year of the "Big Snow" Tim of the Races, a cattle jobber, when returning from Ballinakill fair called into Brennan's, near Spink, Leisc.
    It was snowing heavily but he said he had to go home.
    The people of the house asked him to remain but he would not stay.
    He left - the snow fell heavier - he did not return home.
    After seven weeks when the snow was gone he was found near the Blacksticks by John Pigott of Knocklade, sitting on his hunker with £170 in one pocket and 1/2
