Poem
The Saggarth was roused at an untimely hour.
By a crashing blow on the door the tower.
I am captured at last he exclaimed with a shiver.
As he kissed a gold cross with pale lips all aquiver.
Tis Black Captain Dick and he mumbled a blessing.
But his aged hands shook as he hastened his dressing.
The door was burst in, and old Father O'Farrell.
Saw the Rapparee outlaww Phelim O'Carroll.
God save you my son, was his glad surprised greeting.
Speaking quickly, and say whats the cause of our meeting.
Low bowed the tall form of the wild raving Herne.
Then he spoke in a voice, low, thrilling and stern.
Fly, fly, Father John the priest hunters are near us.
