Another common herb is known as the Devil's bit. It resembles a blue button on a long stem. It is still used as a remedy for sprain. Tradition says that seeing its great curative properties the Devil came around and bit the stem thereby poisoning the plant.
Still another common herb is known as St John's Wort. This herb is thought by superstitious people to counter witchcraft in regard to dairy cattle
