  1. There is a lot of caves situated throughout the country. There is one cave situated in the townland of Tierogarven. It is about a mile from our house. It is said that the cave runs underground for about three quarters of a mile. It leads from the old Ballytrain road to the Shercock road. It is not known who built this cave. There is a spring well at the mouth of the cave and in the summer the people around the cave draw water from it. In places the earth fell in to the cave and closed it up and in other places it is open. If people were walking through the cave they would want to take their boots off, and they would also want to take a flash lamp with them or they would lose their way. Inside a cave it is very dark. The cave is built of stone and clay and the earth is the roof of it. There are three rooms inside
