- There lived at Magoney, Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan, a man named Owen Finnegan who was a very well built man. He was noted for his strength. One day he was working at a threshing mill. When the mill was finished threshing the engine driver, when backing the tractor engine, allowed it to fall into a hole that was in the haggard. All that were there began to pull, except Owen Finegan, who was at his tea. When he came out, he laughed at all the men pulling the engine, because they were not able to pull it out. He gave one pull himself, and pulled the engine out of the hole. The owner of mill gave him a ten shilling note for his deed.
