- There is just one Holy Well in the district, and that is called Kilgory. It is in O'Neill's field, in the townland of Montheen. People visit it on the first three Sundays of May every year. There are prayers said at the Well. The Rosary is recited with great devotion, and many other prayers are said, such as The Litany of the Saints, and the Angelus.
There is one story told about this Well. It is said that St. Guerie, who was then a priest, came out one morning to say Mass, and the Yeomen shot him. Many people have been cured at the Well. This Well is not specially recomended for the cure of a particular disease. Invalids and people drink the water and most of them, take home bottles of it with them. Then the invalids bathe the affected parts with the water.
There are medals and chrutches and ribbons left behind at the Well.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
