- There are five forges in the Parish. The owners are Mr Heafey, Mr M Kelly, Mr J Walsh, Mr T Holohan, Mr J lee.
Mr Lee's forge has been in the possession of his ancestors for generations and Mr Heafey's forge was established in his great-grandfather's time, and Mr Holohan served his time with Nr Heafey and Mr Walsh and Mr Kelly served their time under Mr Holohan. The forges are outside the town on the road-side and are all much the same. The roofs are of zinc and are blackened from the continual smoke from the fire. They are small rooms in it.
The bellows is a large stone square with a fire in the centre.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
