Coming home from the church was a great scene. Everyone around the place would go on horseback and in sidecars. The newly married couple would ride the same horse coming home. When they used to be near the house they used to start galloping until they reached it.
The people used to have a bundle of straw burning on a bush, before them.
The feast used to consist of bacon, turnips, big pots of tea, cabbage a big barrel of porter and poteen. They used to hire a piper to play. Someone used to pass round the plate and he or she would get money for the piper.
