  1. When Rev. Father P. Mac Connon was in a parish over beyond Carrickmacross there were protestant people living a few miles away. One of the old ladies was dying and she wanted to see the priest before she would die. They would not get him for her, and her last words were "when you bury me, I will be here when you come back". They prepared the funeral and buried the corpses, and when they came home the old woman was sitting in the corner as usual, and she said to them: "not until you get the priest for me will I leave here. Some of them went for Father Mac Cannon and they told him the story from beginning to end and he came and put her Ghost into a bottle and it into the Lake near the place never to leave it. It was said that Rev Father Mac Connon was very powerful and he could do (anything) what he liked with any body or anything.
