   Consequently he composed those words

   Water clear comes every year
   To drink at Ballyspellan.

   Another writer whose name I cannot recall at the moment when writing of Johnstown referred to Ballyspellan in following words.

   When Ballyspellan high of fame.
   Called rich and poor blind and lame
   From all parts of the earth.

   Ballyspellan is the largest townsland in the parish of Johnstown comprising roughly about 8 thousand acres.
