The potatoes are gathered into pits. In the Winter they are taken into the loft.
There are many names on the potatoes "Kerrs pinks" "Aran Banners" "British Bremiers" "Epicures" "Kerry Blues. The Epicures are the earielst potatoes of the year and the British Primiers are next earielst potatoes. These potatoes all grow well in the district. In former days the flower was used instead of starch.
