Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)was called a settle bed. It was made to open out at night as a bed, and then it would be folded up in the day time, and used for a seat. In most houses the fireplace was at the gable wall, but in some houses it was in the corner. It was a hearth fire that the people had long ago. Now some people have ranges. The front of the chimney was made with clay and wattles, but now they are made of bricks and mortar. There were never any houses in this part of the country without a chimney. The old people had stools for sitting on. The tables were small long ago, because they houses were so small, and to take up no room.
Half doors were common in olden times. Some people have half doors yet. The people used always to have good(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
