    In addition you got a print of butter and it was a most appetising meal washed down with a measure of fine fresh buttermilk.
    In some houses the table was placed at the wall, and when not in use could be turned up to the wall leaving some space in the kitchen.
    There were no pastries or fancy foods such as is got at the present day. And the people were much healthier.
