    When they catch him they make him promise that he will give them a bag of gold but if they take their eyes of him he will vanish.
    Mermaids are not very common round the coast of Ireland but are said to give warning to sailors when anythings is going to happen to their ship.
    The mermaid has a long fish tail its hair is made of seaweed and they are said to be beautiful singers
