- Once upon a time it happened that it rained for a number of days and the tide rose and covered the townlands of Beanfield and Kilmacowen.
The tide flowed into houses. Roads and fields was blocked. It is said that cattle and sheep and pigs were lost. There was turf brought away. There were ships lost on sea. There was strong wind. This happened about hundred years ago.
