    many a fair lady fit to be seen.
    Washed in milk and dressed in silk.
    The last falls down."
    The one that falls down is called in by the leader who recites in a loud voice

    On a cold and frosty morning
    The prisoner is then questioned in a low voice
    "Come tell to me your true love's name.
    Your true love's name,
    on a cold and frosty morning.
    The prisoner whispers a name where upon all the girls sing in chorus:
    John Black 'tis his name
    'Tis his name,
    'Tis his name. On a cold and frosty morning.
