A cow in Rathgoonane got suddenly sick. The owner believed that she was hit by elf stones and sent for the man who had the cure. He came, got a porringer, half filled it with water and then put into it a few elf stones, a florin, a penny and a halfpenny. He boiled these for some time and then took out the stones and money out of the porringer. He gave the liquid to the cow to drink. This is supposed to have made the cow well.
