- The fever that came long ago to Abbeydorney was the worst fever that ever came.
When the creameries were built and when the separated milk was given to the people they drank so much of it that it gave them fever and killed most of them. Others say that was bad food was the cause of it.
They used to drink the separated milk when it came hot from the creamery which was a very bad thing to do.
They gave it the pigs and fowl and it gave them fever too. The people thought the new kind of milk a great gift, and that it was the finest milk they ever drank, because they did not understand what it was.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
