    The beautiful stone windows which are still intact are a source of wonder even to modern designers of art. How stone could be carved into such beautiful works of art passes all comprehension. There is nothing in design in our modern Cathedral windows which surpasses this beautiful architecture of the early monastic churches. This proves how cultured the monks were in those days and the great loss those seats of learning were to out national development
