One man, the father, sits in the middle of the floor and is surrounded by his nine daughters who are well armed with sticks or belts. One man, (say a cobbler) comes in and says:

    so neat and so fine
Coming to court your nine daughters divine"

    Right down by my knee,
and damn the old cobbler will get one from me
