    Not very many years ago there lived near the Man-O-War a man named George Hoey. He was nearly seven feet high and weighed eighteen stone, and he was a very muscular man. He was one of the champion wrestlers of his day. Wrestling was a popular game then, and crowds of people assembled to witness contests between the best wrestlers of the district. George Hoey could throw the best wrestlers in the neighbouring districts. George Hoey could throw two half cwts as far as an ordinary man could throw 2 half stones weights. It is said also that he could lift a man from the ground with his teeth.
