- There are many local cures for the various ailments people have.
For warts rub them with a fasting spittle for nine mornings. Another cure is to rub them with a snail and then bury the snail.
A cure for the croup is for a seventh son to blow three times down the person's throat.
For a sore back. Bath the sore part with very hot water until the pores are opened. Then get some red flannel and rub sulphur on it and put it on the sore part of the back.
