    In olden times the houses were made of wood. Some of them were also made of mud. The houses were made in the shape of beehives. The roofs were made of wood and they were thatched with straw and rushes. The wood was put on first and it was afterwards covered over with scraws which were cut in rolls on mountain-land. These scraws were cut in lengths of about twelve feet and two feet in width. They were then put over the wood from the top to the bottom of the roof. When the
