    piece the [?] coulters for the ploughs and all this work was done in the night as the ploughs were at work during the day. Another old trade was the nailor. The last of in this locality worked in the house on the old bridge of Carrick. He was to be seen up to twenty years ago at work making all sorts of nails. It was a very busy trade. This old man died only about ten years ago.
    Thatching was another of the old crafts. Thomas Finn Ballynock and John Curry Carrick-Beg were amongst the best thatchers in this district. They were good trades men and would turn out work equal to any in the country.
