People also buy a lot of things on fair days. The Public houses do a good trade on fair days because a lot of people get drunk on fair days. The fair before Christmas is called Martgad mór. It is the biggest fair of the year. On fair days there usually comes five or six travelling shops to the town. One of those Shops sells glass and china and one of them sells hardware, and others sells sweets. There is one shop that sells herrings and mackerel.
On fair days there are travelling shops that sells cloth and clothes. They sell suits of cloth, overcoats, trouser's and other drapery. Often a man goes around on a bicycle from house to house selling bead, prayer books, hair combs and racks and necklaces. He carries all the thing in a bag on a bicycle. Sometimes he sells cloth.
