- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)About two miles from Ballaghaderreen there is a mass-path leading from the main road round to a field. After going about a quarter mile through this field a round stone building is reached. In Penal days the priests and people used to hear Mass in this building. Inside there are seven alters and seven preserved sets of mass garments. In older times seven priests could easily say mass under the same roof. The seven altars consists of pieces of rock jutting out of wall at seven different parts of the building. This building is called the "Seven Altars". It is in a perfect condition yet and it can easily be seen from the main road.
