- The following account of the various trades int the olden times in Belcarra area, was narrated to the teacher by Michael Moran, now residing in Roslahan.Cnoch na bhFiadhach is a small hill sloping northwest and between it and the present village of Belcarra, lay, along the Stage Coach Road, a populous village called after the hill Cnoch na bhFiadhach.

The old Stage Coach road from Poll Mor, Ballyfarana, near Belcarra to Mulchrone's house near Doonamona, was at one time a busy place. Along this road lay a village of fifty houses called Cnoc na bhFíadhach. On the south side of this once populous village was a hill facing south west, on the side of the hill was a wood in which deer roamed at will.Each family had only a garden containing a rood or at most a half acre, one or two lucky families had an acre.
