  1. About 20 years ago there was a great fall of snow. It snowed heavily all through the night unknown to the people. In the morning they found that the snow was a yard deep on the road.
    When my grandmother opened the door in the morning, she was amazed to see the quantity of snow that blew in. The snow was so thick that Mr. Vaughan who owned Ballyfane shop had to shovel a pathway down to the pump to get water. A pathway also had to be made to the chapel. The snow stayed on the ground for 6 weeks.
